Another month, another newsletter . . . This month we want to highlight repairs made to an old sewing machine stand. It started in bad condition, having been stored in a garage for years. However, after refinishing the wood and repainting the metal, it looks like new! And the best part about this job is that the piece belonged to the owner’s grandmother. See our Restoration page http://irongateantiques.com/restorations-2/ for photos.
If you haven’t yet done your shopping for Valentine’s Day, consider a piece of furniture as a gift. Alternatively, think about reupholstering a piece you already have. It can change the look of a room or just add a splash of color. We recently had Bob’s Lincoln rocker reupholstered and it turned out great! Since we carry multiple lines of fabric, there’s something for everyone, from leather to velvet to suede to cotton, from animal prints (like Lynne’s favorites: leopard & zebra) to more traditional patterns, from relatively inexpensive to high priced (but exquisite!) fabrics. Ask Bob about taking swatches home if you want to see how something will look in your room.
We’ll close with our special hours for the month. This month the only change from our winter hours is that we’ll be open on President’s Day, which is Monday, the 17th, from 10 AM until 6 PM. Bob will be away from the store on the 21st and 22nd, but the store will be open.
Have a great month!
