If you’ve liked the Iron Gate Antiques page on Facebook, you’ve probably seen photos of this month’s featured product It’s amazing what some time and attention can do for furniture!

Check on line at http://irongateantiques.com/recent-acquisitions/ for photos of this month’s other acquisitions:  a three-level server and a Victorian sofa with a tufted back.  While you’re on our website, you may want to look at the Chairs page to see the difference between those with rush seats, those that are caned and those with split caning.  It’s not only interesting, but also gives you an appreciation for the various skills Bob has acquired.

Now that Halloween is over, it’s time for Pumpkin Chunkin Week (1-4 Nov) at Great Country Farms.  This is your opportunity to bring your leftover jack o’lantern to smash.  They’ll end up as fodder for the pigs and cows—or as compost once the beasts have had their fill.  It sounds like fun and we always appreciate the opportunity to pick up fresh, local produce.  There’s even an opportunity at 2 p.m. on Sunday, the 2nd, to participate in a giant duck drop to benefit Boulder Crest Retreat for Wounded Warriors.

With our Wounded Warriors in mind, Veteran’s Day is the 11th and we’ll be open regular hours.  However, we will be closed for Thanksgiving on the 27th and also on the 28th, but will reopen on Saturday the 29th for your holiday shopping needs.  Speaking of which, we have a few of the previous years’ White House Christmas ornaments available, so if you’re looking for any, give Bob a call to see if we have it in stock.

May you have a peaceful and restful Thanksgiving with family and friends!
