Another month, another newsletter—this time with another example of a “before” and “after” chair. What do you think? Pretty amazing, right? It may not take a rocket scientist to strip furniture, but it does take space. Fortunately, we have a dedicated spot in the workshop just for that, which we’ll use to keep Sean fully occupied this summer.
If you’re looking for excuses to come out to the store or things to do in the Bluemont area, Boulder Crest Retreat is hosting their 3rd Annual Hoedown for Our Heroes on June 4th. This event to be held at the Retreat will feature a BBQ dinner, live band and a large silent auction. Purchase tickets on line at https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/weblink.aspx?name=E160995&id=79. Since Great Country Farms is holding their Strawberry Jubilee Fest the same weekend, there are lots of options for fun including a pie eating contest at 2:00 p.m. each day.
The 11th Annual Western Loudoun Artists Studio Tour, to be held June 18th and 19th, includes a number of new artists this year. Check out a few of them at the Checkmate Farm Rug Studio and Monkeytown Pottery in Bluemont. See http://www.wlast.org/ for details and maps.
As always, the Recent Acquisitions page of our website at http://irongateantiques.com/recent-acquisitions/ has photos of newly acquired pieces, so we hope you’ll look there regularly. Have a terrific month!
