November 1, 2025
We hope everyone is enjoying the beauty of the season! We took the photo below at a recent event at Dirt Farm Brewery, which has a full calendar of events for this month, too. These include a Veteran’s Day Chili Weekend November 8th-11th; Dirt Farm offers a 10% military discount every day, which is great! On November 26th, there’s the annual pre-turkey hill climb—and if you’ve been there you know that hill is STEEP—and on the 30th is the 7th annual Christmas Market.
Since we’re getting into the holiday season, just want to let you know about some special holiday hours. First, on Veteran’s Day (the 11th), we’ll be open normal hours (10-6). However, we’ll be closed the 27th through 29th for Thanksgiving with family. We will reopen, as usual, on the 30th, which is Small Business Saturday. Launched by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday shines a spotlight on local businesses and service providers rather than large chains. Although we’ve closed our retail space, we still have merchandise for sale and would appreciate you reviewing our website (www.irongateantiques.com) and letting Bob know if you’re interested in purchasing something you see there.
If you’re looking for craft items, the 12th annual holiday bazaar will be held at the Hamilton Safety Center on November 22nd with proceeds benefiting the Volunteer Rescue Squad. The nearby Hamilton United Methodist Church has their Christmas Bazaar the same day, so there should be plenty of baked goods and homemade items. The event at the Safety Center usually has raffle items, too. If you don’t mind a bit of driving, the Northern Virginia Christmas Market will be held at the Dulles Expo Center on the 8th and 9th. Thurmont, MD hosts their Christmas Market Craft and Vendor Show on the 15th and 16th.
But the fun begins this weekend with Purcellville’s own Artisan Tour; see https://purcellvilleartisantour.com/ for details. Wishing you a wonderful month and much to be thankful for!
