Happy Summer! What a great time of year: the strawberries and raspberries are ripe (or getting that way) and the weather isn’t oppressively hot yet—at least not most of the time. We have a new business to celebrate in Bluemont, which is a big occasion here. It’s Dirt Farm Brewing at 18701 Foggy Bottom Road, next to the Bluemont Vineyard. They’re having an open house Friday, June 12th from 6-9 p.m.
If you’ve been following our Facebook page, you’ll know we’ve had several recent acquisitions this month including the chair inlaid with mother-of-pearl shown above. We also have several beautiful rugs and a Gustav Becker tall case clock in an oak case. The clock has a resonating chime. As many of you know, Bob loves clocks and this one is really special. Please see the photos above as well as additional photos and more detailed descriptions on our website at [insert website].
Looking for interesting local events? It’s not too early to start thinking about the Purcellville Wine & Food Festival on July 18th as tickets are expected to go on sale in early June; check http://www.purcellvillewineandfood.com/index.html to see if they’re on sale yet. This month Twin Oaks Tavern Winery has a newly released Vidal Blanc and has live music every Saturday. Great Country Farms has u-pick strawberries expected through June 6th, then a Father’s Day Fish-a-Rama event on June 21st. (If you haven’t purchased a Father’s Day gift yet, you may want to consider our “Wow!” rocker. There’s no reason not to purchase a gift you can enjoy too, right?)
We don’t have any special hours to report this month, though Bob won’t be in the store the weekend of June 20th and 21st as we’ll be celebrating his father and step-mother’s 50th anniversary. Since it’s also Sean’s birthday that weekend, it will be a very special weekend for the McCann family! Hope to see you at the store . . .
