November 2015

November 1, 2015

So we got our extra hour sleep and now have to wait a year for another . . .

Below is our featured recent acquisition for this month.  It’s a Victorian quarter sawn oak hall tree with the original beveled mirror and hooks.  The bench seat has a storage area which is great it you use it in your front hall as intended.  Ours is a great place to hang jackets and umbrellas.  Additional photos of this gorgeous piece are on our website at Recent Acquisitions

Because we’re in the holiday season (already!), we have some special hours to report.  We will be open for Veteran’s Day (thank you, veterans!) on the 11th, but closed for Thanksgiving on the 26th and 27th.  We’ll reopen on Saturday, the 28th, which happens to be the day of the Bluemont Holiday Craft Show at the Community Center.  The hours are 10 until 4 and admission is free.  It’s an opportunity to buy quality, hand-made products for holiday gifts—or yourself—and is definitely worth a visit.

Other local events this month include Pumpkin Chunkin’ at Great Country Farms the 1st through the 3rd, which sounds like a fun way to dispose of your jack-o-lanterns. On the 21st, Shugar Shugar Cupcakes will be at nearby Bluemont Vineyard with tastings as well as selling their wares.  Meanwhile, try the Peter Peter Pumpkin Ale, made with neck pumpkins from Great Country Farms, at Dirt Farm Brewing, which shares the same amazing view as the Vineyard.  But hurry, before the fall leaves fall . . .

In case we don’t talk to you before then, Happy Thanksgiving!
