March 2024

It seems like spring is almost here! If you’re thinking about spring cleaning, it may also be a good time to think about refreshing your décor. One way to do that is by painting the walls and another is by moving the furniture around. Both of these can really change the look of a room, but require a bit of a commitment. A relatively easy way to update a room is by changing what’s on the wall. The trio of framed French fashion prints below dating from 1895 would add a hint of nostalgia to a bedroom or sitting room. (They look even better in person because I’ve not figured out how to take photos without the covering glass showing my reflection!)

Because it’s staying light later now, we’re going back to summer hours effective today. Those hours are10-6, Monday through Saturday. Hopefully that will be a bit more convenient for everyone!

Since it is St. Patrick’s month, there are a couple events we want to bring to your attention. The 1st Annual Virginia Irish Fest will be held at One Loudoun in Ashburn on the 16th from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. There will be multiple DJs, rock bands, Irish dancers, and beer. See www.vairishfest.com for more info. Also on the 16th, Old Town Winchester will have a Celtic Fest from noon until 10 p.m. with food and artisan craft vendors, live entertainment and music, Irish dancing, and more. New this year is a St. Paddy’s brewery crawl beginning at 5 p.m.

Finally, here’s an Irish blessing with best wishes for the coming month:

May your troubles be less and your blessings be more,

And nothing but happiness come through your door.
