We’re featuring two recent acquisitions this month. The first is a mahogany mirror dating from [insert]. Oval mirrors such as this one can work in a bathroom or bedroom. They can even be part of a group of framed items over a sofa. We have a mirror in the short hall between our bedroom and home office where it reflects the light from the bathroom window in what would otherwise be a dark space. Many possibilities . . .
The second recent acquisition is a maple, 3-drawer chest that dates from the 1880’s. The drawer pulls have been replaced and this sturdy piece is ready for use. Might it work in a college dorm or to replace another piece being taken away to college? Seems to be that time of year!
It’s not only college students heading off to school already. LCPS students go back on August 24th this year. How is it possible that it’s already that time? What happened to summer? (Every child’s questions, right?) We’re going to be taking a vacation this month, so will be closed on two Saturdays this month: the 12th and 19th. We apologize in advance if this causes any inconvenience.
If you’re looking for reasons to explore, August is Virginia Craft Beer Month and Loudoun County has 32 breweries. Pick up a LoCo Ale Trail passport and get it stamped at each brewery with the purchase of a beer. Complete any one of four clusters of breweries to earn a prize or go for the Grand Prize of a LoCo Ale Trail sweatshirt by visiting them all. There are 31 days in August, so this could be a goal for a serious beer-lover. And just in time for fall!
