Bob’s been busy with barrister bookcases. (Say that three times fast!) If you follow our page on Facebook, you’ll have seen the photo of the oak mission style Globe-Warnicke barrister 4-stack bookcase. The photos below are the before and after of a 6-stack bookcase that was just completely refinished. We don’t think it’s a Globe-Warnicke, but just look at that original leaded glass! There’s a third barrister bookcase at the store, so if you’re interested, come take a look . . . We’ll be closed for Independence Day on Tuesday, but otherwise open normal hours (i.e., 10-6 Monday-Saturday and noon-5 Sunday).
If you are looking for a way to celebrate the holiday, consider the fifth annual Rockin’ Independence Eve in Old Town Winchester on Monday, July 3 from 5:00-11:00 pm. It’s a free, family-friendly event with live entertainment, a fireworks display at 9:15, and a beer and wine garden at the Taylor Pavilion in Old Town. Proceeds from beverages sales benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters.
There are parades on the 4th itself in Leesburg (10 AM) and Purcellville (12:30 PM). The American Originals Fife and Drum Corps will perform at the intersection of King and Market Streets in Leesburg before the parade. Leesburg’s concert will begin at Ida Lee Park at 6 PM with fireworks at 9:30. Purcellville’s concert at Franklin Park starts at 5 PM with fireworks at 9:15. St. Peter’s Episcopal Church is hosting a free family-friendly “before the fireworks” event that starts at 4 PM and includes live bluegrass, Monk’s BBQ (yum!), a patriotic sing-along, and prayers for the nation.
Purcellville will also be hosting a Food and Wine Festival on July 15th. So much to do in Western Loudoun . . . Happy Independence Day!
