Please check out the photos of the clawfoot tub below.  This tub for our bathroom renovation was recently reglazed by https://www.tub-solutions.com. We’re very happy with the way it turned out and can’t wait to see it in the bathroom—once the project gets to that point.  The cast iron tub had been sitting in our garage for years just waiting.

If you’d rather not remodel, but your current house isn’t perfect, you may be interested in the 1904 restored Victorian at 18339 Railroad Street in Bluemont that will be coming on the market soon.  This 3 bedroom/3 bath home was built for Edward E. Lake and is on a half acre next door to the E.E. Lake General Store, which is where they sell baked goods and t-shirts during the Bluemont Fair.  The kitchen was remodeled to include quartz counter tops and updated appliances, and all the plumbing and electrical in the house have been replaced.  While the master has an en suite bath with his and hers closets, the hall bathroom has a clawfoot soaking tub.  Wonder if it’s as gorgeous as ours . . .

Since it’s St. Patrick’s month, we can’t pass up this opportunity to mention a few local celebrations.  On the 7th, Old Town Winchester will host a Saint Paddy’s Celtic Fest from noon until 9 p.m.  This free event includes a showing of the film “The Quiet Man” featuring John Wayne, vendors, musicians, dancers (including Loudoun County’s own Celtic Rhythm School of Dance), and alpacas on the Old Courthouse lawn.  Not sure alpacas are Celtic, but they’re fun and make nice sweaters.  😊  For more information on this event that benefits the SPCA, see https://oldtownwinchesterva.com/events/major-events/st-paddys-celtic-fest/.

On the big day itself (the 17th), Celtic Rhythm School of Dance will perform at the Dulles Town Center Mall at 6:30 p.m.  This show will include a combination of traditional Irish music—perhaps featuring live music from an accordion player we know well—and Irish dancing to some very non-traditional music such as that 1970’s Bee Gees hit “Stayin’ Alive.”  It promises to be a fun performance!

Finally, Irish music legends and six-time Grammy award winners The Chieftains will perform at George Mason University’s Center for the Arts on the 19th at 8 p.m.  As some of the dancers from the O’Neill James School of Irish Dance in Arlington will be joining them, it should be very exciting!  Hope you have a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day!
