FREE TO GOOD HOME—Victorian pump organ shown below! The newsletter doesn’t normally start like this, but a colleague has a beautiful organ that needs a new home; all you need to do is pick it up from Dumfries, VA. Please call 703-580-9509 if interested. The Waterloo Organ Company began in 1861 in Waterloo, NY, and became one of the largest and best equipped organ manufacturers in the United States. It had disastrous fires at its plant on May 24, 1881; March 13, 1897; and June 22, 1928–the last ending organ (and piano) manufacture in Waterloo. Before you dismiss this organ that doesn’t play, we want to remind you of the conversions we’ve done, such as the hall tree in the 3rd photo below. We’ve also converted a base into a desk. Many possibilities . . .

If you came to the Bluemont Fair last month, you were part of a record-breaking crowd! We hope everyone enjoyed the weekend, though the weather was significantly better that Saturday than Sunday. This weekend is the 78th Waterford Fair, which is always enjoyable; see https://www.waterfordfoundation.org/event/78th-waterford-fair/ for details on this 3-day event.(Celtic Rhythm School of Dance will be performing at noon on Saturday, in case you’re interested.) The following weekend, Bob will be doing a caning demonstration at the Joshua’s Hands Fall Festival, being held on October 14th at a new location after a 4-year hiatus; see https://www.joshuashands.org/Fall_Festival.html for more. Because Bob will be otherwise engaged, the store will only be open from 10 until 1 that day.

The store will also be closed on October 21st for a family event. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause!
