May 2019

Looking for something fun to do in Western Loudoun?  Start the month with a Derby Party on the 4th at Bluemont’s Audley Farm.  Or, what about a Mother’s Day Tea on May 12th at Georges Mill Farm in Lovettsville?  There will be a chance to snuggle with the baby goats.  They’re adorable!

Memorial Day weekend brings Round Hill’s Hometown Festival on the 25th.  Billed as the best day of the year in Round Hill, this family-friendly event includes a parade as does Hamilton Day, which is on Memorial Day itself.  Bluemont’s Great Country Farm will host a Strawberry Festival on the 25th and 26th.  Try the pie-eating contest, enter a wee one in a Diaper Derby or just enjoy the live music.  Tarara Winery will be celebrating their 30th Anniversary that weekend as well as beginning their summer concert series.  Love the start of summer . . .    On a more somber note, please keep our carpenter extraordinaire, Cecil, in your thoughts and prayers as he’ll be having surgery on his hand Friday.  After almost 44 years of work, his first injury resulted from an incident with a table saw.  We wish him a speedy recovery!
